(Washington, D.C) – Today, Congressman Zinke congratulated the Montana State Rodeo Team on being selected to participate in the 2025 Inaugural Parade in Washington, D.C., on January 20. They will be the first collegiate rodeo team to take part in the event in our nation’s history. Congressman Zinke nominated the team recognizing their outstanding achievements in collegiate rodeo and the pride they bring to Montana’s western heritage.

“I am incredibly proud that the Montana State Rodeo Team was selected for this once in a lifetime honor,” said Zinke “By selecting the Bobcats Rodeo Team, the inaugural committee chose to highlight not only Montana values but the West. Our culture, heritage and values matter, and President Trump knows that. The Bobcats are the finest in their sport and will make Montana proud – even Griz fans!”

“I think it’s huge. To my knowledge there has never been a college rodeo team in an inaugural parade,” said MSU rodeo head coach Kyle Whitaker. “It sets us apart and it shows how embraced we are, not just at the university, but through the whole state.

36 team members plus accompanying family and support will travel to D.C. on Saturday and be joined by local horses. In total, Zinke will welcome about 200 Montanans to our nation’s capital for the inauguration of President-elect Donald J. Trump.

Montana State is one of the most storied and successful rodeo programs in the history of the Nation Intercollegiate Rodeo Association. The Bobcats have claimed 9 National Team Titles and 35 national championships, making it one of the winningest programs in the sport.  MSU’s Rodeo Program is dedicated to promoting student-athletes who excel in both academics and athletics pursuits while embracing Montana’s rich rodeo heritage.
