Congressman Ryan Zinke Announces $85,000 in NEA Grants to Western Montana
(WASHINGTON, D.C.) The Office of Congressman Zinke announces this year’s National Endowment of the Arts (NEA) federal grant recipients. The NEA awards grants toward organizations to support the art community and is open to applicants across the country. This is the first of two grant announcements for the fiscal year and Montana’s First Congressional District is home to five groups who received a combined total of $85,000.
Recipients in Montana’s First Congressional District are:
Equinox Theatre Company: $10,000
Purpose: To support staffing for a theater art in prison program.
Glacier Symphony and Chorale, Inc.: $10,000
Purpose: To support a series of educational chamber concert tours in rural communities and tribal lands of Montana.
Missoula Writing Collaborative: $35,000
Purpose: To support creative writing residencies for students.
University of Montana: $20,000
Purpose: To support Montana Repertory Theatre's development, world premiere production, and tour of a new play by Kendra Mylnechuk Potter.
