University of Montana defended program funded by known CCP influencing operation
The University of Montana (UMT) is taking heat from Republican lawmakers in the state after defending a program that allows groups tied to the Chinese Communist Party to host and pay for student trips to China.
UMT is offering a controversial study abroad program in China, referred to as the "CUSEF cultural exchange," that has raised national security concerns from state lawmakers who say the groups that fund the trips are "an organ of the CCP’s approach to influence operations."
(The Center Square) – Alarmed by a dramatic increase in fentanyl-related deaths among adolescents, a bipartisan congressional group led by U.S. Rep. Dan Newhouse, R-Wash., has introduced legislation that would provide funding for opioid-overdose reversal medication and training for school personnel in rural areas and districts with high crime rates.
Today, Western Montana Congressman Ryan Zinke invites high school students in Montana’s 1st Congressional District to participate in the 2023 Congressional Art Competition. The longtime tradition started in 1982 and has since allowed Montana’s young artists the chance to showcase their talents in our nation’s Capitol building.
