Congressman Ryan Zinke Announces More Than $2 Million in Health Grants to Lincoln County

(WASHINGTON, D.C.) – Today, Western Montana Congressman Ryan Zinke announced more than $2 million in federal grant funding from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to the Lincoln County Community Health Center headquartered in Libby, Montana, which serves more than 7,500 unduplicated annual patients. The funding is distributed through the H80 - Health Center Cluster program and will aid the nearly 70 professionals in Montana’s First Congressional District who provide medical, dental, pharmaceutical, and behavioral services to the state’s Northwest region. The funding will further the center’s mission of building strong, healthy communities through access to quality, affordable patient-centered care.

Recipient: Lincoln County Community Health Center

Program title: H80 – Health Center Cluster

Award: $2,140,335

“Rural health has unique challenges and delivering quality and affordable medical care in reasonable proximity to home or by telemedicine is a big priority for my office,” said Zinke. “Having updated, staffed and capable medical centers closer to home, rather than driving hundreds of miles to Kalispell, Missoula or Billings is critically important for the health and mental wellness of our neighbors. Whether it’s addiction medicine, mental health, pediatrics, physical therapy or emergency medicine, the ability for one to see a doctor who they know and trust - and who is close to home - no doubt improves patient outcomes and strengthens families. I applaud the team at Lincoln County Community Health Center for their work to secure this funding and thank them for their work keeping Montanans well.”
