Zinke Releases Statement Following the State of the Union Address

February 24, 2026

Highlights lower gas prices, lower taxes, secure borders, and the return of American strength abroad

Washington, D.C. – Today, Congressman Ryan Zinke released the following statement following the State of the Union Address:

“Damn the torpedoes, full steam ahead with the Trump America First Agenda. After years of rising prices and stagnant wages, the economy is moving forward. Inflation is down 2 percent, GDP is up 5 percent, retirement accounts are growing, and American families are keeping more of their hard-earned paychecks. Gas prices dropped to $2.25 a gallon in Montana. The border is secure after years of chaos, with law enforcement empowered to do their jobs and keep our communities safe. The Trump doctrine is in full effect, our enemies once again fear us, and our allies understand we all must bear the burden in the fight for freedom.

In just one year, President Donald Trump and the Republican Congress have restored energy independence, strengthened our military, secured our borders, and put more money back in your pocket. Tonight, POTUS laid out why America is back, and we are just getting started.”
