President Trump's Inauguration

The Inauguration Ceremony of President Donald J. Trump
Monday, January 20, 2025

***President Trump announced his inauguration will be moved inside due to the expected cold weather that could be dangerous for some people. Our office does not have information yet about what this means for ticket holders or how to secure tickets for Capital One Arena. Please follow @RealDonaldTrump on X and Truth Social for the most up to date information. We will update our ticket holders when we have information. It’s a great weekend to be an American! 🇺🇸 ***

You will have the opportunity to witness our nation's history as President Trump is sworn in for his second term and delivers his inaugural address!

While Congressman Zinke’s office is no longer accepting requests for tickets, you can still witness this historic event from the designated public viewing areas on the National Mall.

Below you will find basic information about the events and a map of the designated seating and standing areas. Additional standing room will be available on the National Mall for unticketed spectators.

This website will be updated periodically as our office receives more information.

Event Details

President-elect Trump will be sworn in to office on Monday, January 20th, at noon. Gates will open to guests at 9:00 AM. All guests are required to go through airport-style security, and the lines can be lengthy. Please plan accordingly.

Following the President’s speech, the inaugural parade will take place on Pennsylvania Avenue, beginning at the Capitol and ending at the White House.

Balls and Other Events

Congressional offices are not provided tickets for the inaugural balls, and unfortunately, we are unable to secure tickets for the balls or other events. If you are interested in attending the balls or parade, please visit the Presidential Inauguration Committee websitefor more details.

Additionally, several unofficial events will be hosted by State Societies and other groups throughout the weekend. The Montana State Society is also planning a formal event for Saturday, January 18th, which you may purchase tickets for if you wish. For more details, please check their Facebook pagein early January.

Weather

This is an outdoor, uncovered event. The President will be sworn in under whatever weather conditions God delivers, so please dress accordingly. January in Washington, D.C. is typically cold and wet, so prepare for potential weather challenges.

Please note, there is no re-entry once inside the secure area.

Security

Security will be extremely tight. Roads will be closed for short and long periods, causing disruptions in normal travel patterns, so please allow extra time for getting around the city.

All ticketed guests will be required to go through airport-style security (you can leave your shoes and jackets on). Lines are expected to be long, so please plan accordingly.

For planning purposes here are lists of prohibited items for the U.S. Capitol and Presidental Inauguration:

Frequently asked questions:

Can my tickets be mailed to me?

The Inauguration Committee generally only releases tickets to congressional offices a few days prior to the inauguration and therefore cannot be mailed. All tickets must be picked up in person at Congressman Zinke's Office.

How do I know if i have tickets?

The portal to request tickets for the 2025 Presidential Inauguration is now closed. If you applied for a ticket and have not been received out to by a member of Congressman Zinke's staff, unfortunately you where not able to be accommodated this year.

Where will I be located during the inauguration ceremony if I get tickets?

Tickets will be standing-room only on the U.S. Capitol lawn. You should plan on standing for at least three hours, if not more.

What should I bring?

It is suggested you wear comfortable shoes and warm clothes. Although it's nothing like Montana, January is historically cold and wet in Washington, DC. There will also be long lines expected. Prohibited items include but are not limited to: firearms and ammo, explosives, knives/blades/sharp objects, mace/pepper spray, sticks/poles, pocket/hand tools/Leatherman, packages, backpacks, large bags, duffel bags, suitcases, thermoses, coolers, strollers, umbrellas, laser pointers, signs/posters, alcohol, and animals. Food items are also typically not allowed either. You will not be able to come and go once you enter the security perimeter. Please note that if you do not receive a ticket there are still opportunities to go and witness the inauguration further away on the National Mall and thus anyone can attend the Presidential swearing in.

What if I want tickets to the balls or parades?

The congressional offices are only given inauguration ceremony tickets (if you are interested in the balls or parade you should go to the Presidential Inauguration Committee website we will update this information with that address once the website becomes live).
