About Ryan

Ryan Zinke is a fifth generation Montanan who serves as Representative for Montana’s First Congressional District covering 16 counties in western Montana including the cities of Bozeman, Butte, Missoula, Kalispell. First elected to Congress in 2014, and serving as U.S. Secretary of the Interior between noncontiguous terms, Zinke has built a track record of accomplishments in energy, conservation, tribal and military issues. Now in his third term, Zinke is a member of the House Committee on Appropriations, focusing his legislative agenda on restoring accountability to federal spending, restoring American energy dominance, and bolstering national security at our borders and beyond.

WASHINGTON - Today, Co-Chair of the Northern Border Security Caucus and Western Montana Congressman Ryan Zinke led a letter signed by 22 Members of Congress to Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas concerning the unprecedented surge in apprehensions along the Northern border.

Today, the House of Representatives passed Montana Congressman Ryan Zinke’s bipartisan resolution H. Con. Res. 86, expressing Congressional disapproval of President Biden’s planned carbon tax. The Resolution passed the House Floor with a final vote of 222-196.

This week Roseburg Forest Products announced it will be shutting down its Missoula particle board plant in mid-May. This comes less than a week after Pyramid Lumber, Seeley Lake’s largest employer and one of the oldest family-owned lumber mills in Western Montana, announced it will close its doors soon due to economic pressures.

As a kid I spent more time outdoors than in. I swear there isn’t an inch of the Whitefish and Flathead Rivers I didn’t row, a trail in Jewel Basin I didn’t hike, and a campground in Glacier I didn’t overnight. But today, it’s becoming more difficult to find a spot to camp, hike, fish or hunt – and that’s a problem.
