The debt ceiling bill, championed and passed thanks in part to Rep. Ryan Zinke, is a small step toward finding a sustainable and effective trajectory for healthy economic growth. Both parties have for too long willfully created inflation through the false belief that as long as they have a printing press, they can create wealth.

The Democrats’ plan to raise the debt ceiling without looking into the issue that caused us to hit the limit is the definition of fiscal irresponsibility,” Zinke said. “With nothing but lies coming from Democrats in all three branches, House Republicans crafted a long-term solution to curb reckless spending, save taxpayer dollars, reinforce Social Security and Medicare programs, and decrease our dependance on potential adversaries. Anyone who understands a hard day’s work would vote to pass this bill.”

Today Montana Congressman Ryan Zinke was appointed to the influential House Committee on Appropriations, the committee has authorization over funding – and defunding – the federal government. The committee is vital to the House upholding its constitutional power of the purse and ensuring the spending by agencies follows the will of the People, rather than the discretion of unelected bureaucrats. Positions on the committee are highly competitive and members typically are appointed after two or three terms in the House. Zinke brings with him seniority from his previous tenure in the House and his expertise as a former U.S. Secretary of the Interior.
