Today, Western Montana Congressman Ryan Zinke announced his support for H.R.5641, the Pay Our Troops Act. Under current law, if there is a government shutdown, those serving in our Armed Forces would not receive a paycheck after September 30th. This legislation was introduced recently by Congresswoman Jen Kiggans (R-VA), a former Navy helicopter pilot.

I pen this heartfelt message to express my profound gratitude to Congressman Ryan Zinke for his unwavering support for my family in a time of crisis. The Veterans Affairs healthcare system that my family has used for decades faltered in our moment of need. The VA left us in a state of limbo, denying us the proper medical care my family urgently required due to negligence.

This week, Western Montana Congressman and combat veteran Ryan Zinke joined House Veterans Affairs Committee Chairman Mike Bost (IL-12) in introducing H.R. 5530, the VA Emergency Transportation Access Act. The bill is a response to the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) rule “Changes in Rates VA Pays for Special Modes of Transportation” (88 Fed. Reg. 10032) which dramatically lowers ground and air ambulance reimbursement rates. The rule would become effective February 2024.

The invasion of illegal aliens across our southern border very clearly dominated the conversation during our statewide town hall meeting with Montana Congressman Ryan Zinke (R-MT01)- the state's Western District Congressman.

"Shut it down. Shut it down now." That was the clear response from Rep. Zinke after callers jumped in on the conversation.
