The University of Montana (UMT) is taking heat from Republican lawmakers in the state after defending a program that allows groups tied to the Chinese Communist Party to host and pay for student trips to China.
UMT is offering a controversial study abroad program in China, referred to as the "CUSEF cultural exchange," that has raised national security concerns from state lawmakers who say the groups that fund the trips are "an organ of the CCP’s approach to influence operations."
Rep. Ryan Zinke, R-Mont., told Newsmax Monday that Congress is going to flex the “power of the purse” to demand substantive changes in border security.
“Ukraine is a war that most Americans see on a TV, and it's atrocious,” Zinke said during an appearance on Newsmax’s “National Report.” “But the border? We see it every day. We see it in New York; we see it in Billings, Montana. We see it everywhere.”
We need legislators like Rep. Ryan Zinke to protect our country from a terrorist-supporting group of people like the Palestinians. They are the ones who voted for Hamas to run their country. They are the ones who protect and supply the recruits that make up this terrorist organization.
And you want to call Zinke (a military veteran) a racist for denying them entry to this great nation. Zinke deserves our respect and praise for his stand on this subject and not the disrespectful rhetoric put out by the haters.

This week marks the 40th anniversary of the bombing of the U.S. Marine Corps barracks in Beirut, Lebanon. In the words of President Ronald Reagan, “We should all recognize these deeds make so evident the bestial nature of those who would assume power if they could have their way.” Reagan’s words ring as true today as they did then.

Some have questioned why U.S. intelligence agencies did not have prior warning of Iran-backed Hamas' terrorist attack against Israel last weekend.
Rep. Ryan Zinke, R-Mont., told Newsmax on Thursday it's possible the U.S. was caught off guard because the Biden administration doesn't view Iran as such a threat in the Middle East, even though Tehran is widely regarded as the world's foremost state sponsor of terrorism.
“We know that a number of those Americans are being held hostage right now by Hamas,” John Kirby, White House coordinator for Strategic Communications said during a briefing on Wednesday.
“I think we all need to steel ourselves for the very distinct possibility that these numbers will keep increasing and that we may, in fact, find out that more Americans are part of the hostage pool,” he said.
Kirby said not much was known about the condition of the hostages or their whereabouts.
Throughout his tenure, including his recent term as Congressman for Montana, Ryan Zinke has consistently advocated for wildlife management. His ongoing efforts to delist the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem (GYE) grizzly bear are both valid and deeply appreciated, especially by those in communities most affected. With the grizzly bear population rising to over 1000 from 737 in just two years, and receiving a high resiliency rating from the US Fish and Wildlife Service in 2021 for the GYE, it makes logical sense to remove the grizzly bear from the Endangered Species Act (ESA).
