Washington D.C. – Representatives Ryan Zinke (MT-01) and Troy Downing (MT-02), along with U.S. Senators Steve Daines and Tim Sheehy today introduced a bicameral resolution disapproving and removing the Bureau of Land Management’s 2024 Miles City Resource Management Plan Amendment (RMPA). The Miles City RMPA effectively ends future coal leasing within the Miles City Field Office planning area, which will have an adverse impact on Montana’s jobs, economy, and energy security.

Washington, D.C. – Today, Western Montana Congressman Ryan Zinke announced that the Montana Department of Labor and Industry has been awarded $4 million in federal funding through the U.S. Department of Labor’s State Apprenticeship Expansion Formula Round 3 (SAFE3) grant program. The grant will support the expansion of Registered Apprenticeship Programs (RAPs) across the state, helping Montanans train for high paying, in demand skilled jobs.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Yesterday, a provision selling millions of acres of public lands was removed from the Senate Reconciliation Bill, also known as the “One Big Beautiful Bill Act.” Congressman Zinke had expressed unequivocal opposition to the provision and joined five of his House colleagues in sending a letter to Speaker of the House Mike Johnson stating, “If a provision to sell public lands is in the bill that reaches the House floor, we will be forced to vote no.”

Washington, D.C. – Yesterday, Western Montana Congressman Ryan Zinke sent a letter to Secretary of the Interior Doug Burgum urging immediate action to address the projected low water levels of Flathead Lake this summer. The Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes (CSKT), which operate the SKQ Dam, are currently projecting lake levels as much as three feet below full pool this summer.
